One of the greatest honors a player can receive during his career is being named the captain of his team. Wearing the "C" recognizes the player's contributions to the team both on and off the ice. During the Lightning's 13 seasons in the National Hockey League, the Lightning have had some great captains that provided leadership, power and direction. Following are the eight players who have been the captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning since Tampa Bay joined the NHL in 1992-93. Tampa's most recent captain is Tim Taylor who was named the eighth team captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning prior to the 2006 training camp.
